1.    Some of Windows OS may have limitation if the disk capacity is exceed 2TB for storage disk or OS bootable disk.

You must convert disk format to “GPT Disk” to recognize it and to get fully storage capacity.

2.   Please open “Computer Manager” then select “Disk Manager”, you can check from the left of red mark for disk total capacity, if the capacity was 3TB, that means there's nothing wrong with your 3TB portable disk.

3.    Check the partition format, if partition is format to “MBR Disk”, it can only recognized for 2TB capacity as below picture.

And the rest of 746.52GB capacity can’t be use for store any data, it is Windows OS limitation for “MBR Disk”.

4.    You need to follow below steps if you need to use full capacity to store data.

Firstable you need to delete exist "MBR Disk" volume.

5.    Move mouse arrow to AC233 3TB disk and right click on it, select “Convert to GPT Disk”.

6.    Add new partition and check disk information you will saw it can totally recognized for 3TB by “GPT Disk” format.

Our hard drive defaut file system is NTFS and Mac OS doesn't support it.

1. We suggest you to format the portable hard drive as follow, if your drive will be used between the Mac OS and Windows environment.

1-1. "MS-DOS"(FAT)(Notes:Single file capacity has 4GB limitation)

1-2. "ExFAT" (No single file capacity limitation)

2. To choose the ”Mac OS extended”, if your drive be used in Mac OS only.

Operation steps:

1.”Go”→”Utilities”

2. To choose ”Disk Utility”

3. Choose portable hard drive, click ”Erase”
 

4.  Choose the file system you want and click “Erase”.

Q1. My computer can’t recognize the HDD/SSD enclosure?

A1: 1-1. The insufficient power of USB port or USB hub might be caused the drive detection failed, especially your drive capacity is over 1TB or above. Please change a USB port, use USB Y-Cable or external power.

      1-2. HDD / SSD has not partitioned and formatted, refer to Q2.

Q2. How to re-initial and format HDD/SSD of hard drive enclosure?

A2: Right click on Computer, select “Manage”, then open “Disk Management” in“Storage” of opened windows. The pop-up windows will come up and suggest a new drive need to be initialized. Please select the disks and click OK.

Step1. Choose initialize type as “MBR” or “GPT”.

Notes:A. If you are mounting a drive which is not larger than 2TB (Include 2TB) and use on a Windows Vista or earlier operation system, initialize with partition style MBR is recommended.

B. If you are mounting a drive which larger than 3TB (Include 3TB), please initialize with partition style GPT, otherwise you will get 2TB of the drive applicable only but the rest capacity will be unable to use.

C. If you closed this Windows by mistake or the Windows have never come up, Right Click on the “Disk Number” and select “Initialize Disk” will get the Windows come up.

Step2. Right click on the "Disk Number" and select "Initialize Disk".

Step3. The unallocated drive need to be format.

Step4. Right click on unallocated new drive, select "New Simple Volume" and start to add a new volume and format process.

Step5. Next

Step6. Click “Next” directly, if you don’t need to partition the device.

Step7. Assign a new drive letter for the new volume.

Step8. Format your new volume. You can set the file system (NTFS, exFAT or FAT32), and allocation unit size and volume label can be set as default. Perform a quick format is recommended. Please click "Next" when everything is configured.

Step9. Click "Finish" will start to format the volume.

Step10. The formatting process will take about 5 to 30 seconds. When the formatting is done, the new volume will be ready for application.

Q3. When I copy a file to the hard drive, it occurred error.

A3: You need to reformat the hard drive as “NTFS” or “exFAT” because the issue is caused by file system limitation.

NTFS & exFAT: No files size limitation.

FAT & FAT32: Single file size <4GB.

Q4. My TV, TV Box, multimedia box, PS4, PS5, etc.. can’t recognized the device?

A4: 4-1. Please clarify the power supply first.

         4-2. Confirm your file system of hard drive is compatible with your application device.

         4-3. Confirm your application device is support your storage capacity.

1. Virtual memory is a memory management technique that provides from windows system.
DRAM is a limited resource, whereas for most practical purposes, virtual memory is unlimited.
When the memory being used by all the existing processes exceeds the available RAM, the operating system moves pages of one or more virtual address spaces to the computer’s hard disk. In Windows systems, these “paged out” pages are stored in one or more files (Pagefile.sys files) in the root of a partition. 2. How to release the capacity from your hard drive?

2-1 Portable HDD：Please process it with normal format.

2-2 System HDD：My Computer(right click)>Properties>Advanced system settings> Advanced(sheet) > Setting > Advanced(sheet) > Virtual Memory(Change…) >Cancel the item「Automatically manage paging file size for all drives」
